Sacha Lodge Review

A parrot clay lick and a butterfly farm in the nearby Parque Nacional Yasuní (Yasuní National Park; close to the Colombian border) and a 43-meter (135-foot) observation tower built around a giant kapok tree at the lodge are added attractions at this rustic but comfortable thatch-roof lodge deep in the Amazon. Activities include birding—more than 60 species have been spotted here—and canoe trips on the Napo River.

    Sacha Lodge Review

    Not luxurious, cabin was all wood, had porch w/ hammock, no problem w/ hot water in shower or with having bugs in room. Staff/service was wonderful overall and pretty well organized. Rubber boots, ponchos and umbrellas provided by lodge. Food was average, cafeteria quality overall w/ occasional highlights, barbecue night outdoors was the best. Naturalist/local guide were very knowledgeable. Had am and pm walks or canoe rides, and night walks, visited canopy walk and observation tower, as well as butterfly farm. I am slender, and found butt would get sore on canoe ride even w/ cushion (ended up folding it over double).
