If you're flying to Peru, you'll touch down at Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez, in the northern neighborhood of El Callao. Once you're in the main terminal, hundreds of people will be waiting. Do yourself a favor and arrange through your hotel for a transfer. Otherwise, hire a cab from one of the companies that have desks in the corridor outside of customs.

Various airlines handle domestic flights, so getting to and from the major tourist destinations is no problem. LAN is the carrier with the most national flights, with a dozen flights per day to Cusco and several daily departures to Arequipa, Chiclayo, Iquitos, Juliaca (Puno), Puerto Maldonado, and Trujillo. It is the most convenient airline, but also the most expensive. Peruvian Airlines offers the best deals, with daily flights to Arequipa, Cusco, Iquitos, and Tacna, on the border with Chile. Star Peru is relatively inexpensive and flies to Ayacucho, Chiclayo, Cusco, Huanuco, Iquitos, Juliaca, Puerto Maldonado, and Trujillo. Taca Peru has two flights per day to Cusco.
