Café Bacacay Review

This small and smartly designed restaurant facing Teatro Solís attracts a young, hip crowd. The owner takes special care in preparing the excellent salads, such as the Bacacay (spinach, raisins, carrots, nuts, and hearts of palm topped with croutons) or the Sarandí (lettuce, celery, chicken, apples, carrots).

    Great food and service above and beyond

    We stopped in here for a quick bite before returning to our cruise ship. Great location with a nice outdoor eating area. The food was very good and the service was attentive and friendly. We chatted with our waitress and the owner (Regina) about things including our cruise.
    The best part - in our haste to return to the ship we forgot our credit card! Imagine our surprise and delight to discover that the restaurant had taken the time and effort to get it to our ship.
    Thanks so much to Regina for saving our vacation. We will always have fond memories of Montevideo and Cafe Bacacay!
