14 Hours In Doha

Looks like we are going to have a 14 hour layover in Doha on our way to Nepal; albeit from 8:00 pm to 10:00 am. Is it possible to see a little of the city or are we best off getting a hotel and catching up on our sleep? Does anyone have a recommendation of a tour company?

The airport is but 15 minutes from the "center" of Doha. You'll be in luck in that the Souk will be alive and you can enjoy dinner before heading to your hotel for the night. Also, the Corniche should still be lively if you'd like to take a stroll. My report of our whirlwind trip a couple of years ago is linked below if you are interested; on the wise advice of friends, we retained a driver (through our hotel), as our plans included a trip into the desert to a museum, as well as outside the city center to attend a performance at the international school (the reason for our visit). But even for transiting between the airport and the city center I would recommend arranging for a driver.

Dinner in Amman and Sightseeing in Doha. A Whirlwind 36 Hour Holiday!

I hope this is helpful.
