Best flights from US to Tanzania

We are traveling September 2025 from Jacksonville ,Florida to Tanzania. We hope to go in to Kilimanjaro--safari starts in Arusha and then home via Dar as we are going to Zanzibar post safari. Looking at Delta but wondering if anyone has traveled on other airlines. Thanks in advance

We always did some SkyTeam combo when we visited East Africa (have flown into/out of Ausha/JRO, Nairobi and Dar). Flew KLM, Delta, KQ, AF on different trips. A couple times we were able to arrange a stopover: once we stayed in Paris for four days before heading down to Nairobi. Another time I stopped in Amsterdam on my way home for a few days. We are in California so the travel time is considerable. I would just choose the flights that look best in terms of schedule and price for you.

Safari njema!

Agreed. Just go to Google Flights and put in the start/end cities and travel dates, and see what comes up. No airline is going to be that much better or worse than the next that it's worth choosing by something other than price and schedule.

Thanks. Sounds like what I am doing is good then. Probably leaning towards Delta but flights either get us in at 8pm the night before we leave for our first destination or will have to get there on Saturday and spend 2 extra nights in Arusha. Would let us get a little acclimated at least.

Don't underestimate the possibility of flight delays, including the risk of your domestic flight from your hometown being delayed such that you miss your int'l flights. I personally would prefer not to fly from the US to any int'l destination arriving at 8pm the night before an expensive prepaid tour that would be difficult to shift around. But to each his own.

Another option is to fly into Nairobi - there are several compelling tourist places of interest (Sheldrick elephant orphanage, Blixen giraffe manor etc), and then head to Arusha by land.... rather than wasting 3 nights in Arusha.
