Last Minute Airport Question
Hey guys, I leave for Arusha in 3 days and feel I have it all wrapped up, but now am starting to get nervous about the small things. I have travelled internationally alone many other times, but I have never had to change planes internationally. So I am wondering if there is anything special I have to do with customs or whatnot, either in Amsterdam or Nairobi.
Here is my flight schedule. I haven't been to these airports before, so any hints would be great.
Dallas to Houston, Houston to Amsterdam on Continental.
Amsterdam to Nairobi on Kenya Air, operated by KLM.
Nairobi to Kilimanjaro on Kenya Air, operated by Precision Air.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Kelly
P.S. For those of you that gave advice about my late night arrival at JRO, I ended up not being able to get ahold of KIA lodge on my own, but my friends who arrived in Arusha a week ago were able to get ahold of them after a few tries and got a reservation for me. So I am relieved. I can't wait to go. Am all packed with 4 lbs to spare!!

I also transferred thru Amsterdam. Maybe mine was simpler because it was the same airline (both KLM), but I found it extremely easy -- no harder than a domestic transfer. I guess it depends on whether you are ticketed in such a way that your luggage goes straight through or not.

Make sure the check-in agent in Dallas tags your luggage to JRO. All you have to do in Amsterdam and Nairobi is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. At both locations, you'll go through security screening before entering the boarding area at your gate. Have a great trip!
