Singita Sweni Lodge
We are supposed to go to the Singita lodge in January. I was told that because the lodge is new that game viewing is scarce due to the animals not being used to the vehicles. Has anyone been to Singita sweni? Is there any truth to what I was told?
We also have the option to go to the Sabi Sabi Selati. Has anyone been there?

I havent been to either lodge, but i would think you will have a great time at both locations. I dont know about Sweni, but, Sabi Sabi is in the Sabi Sands which is always good game viewing. I dont if Sweni is in the Sabi Sands or in the Kruger park....if it is in the Sabi Sands, it should be just as good as Sabi sands.
Other options in that area are Mala Mala, Londolozi, Simbambilli.etcetc., They all deliver great sightings....but, people on these boards are GAGA over Mala Mala more than any other ones....
Do a search in the search box for Singita Sweni to see if you can find any trip reports....

I stayed at Singita Sweni and not only is the lodge beautiful there game viewing is great too. Not as much wildlife as I saw in Tanzania but the lodge more than made up for that. You will lvoe Singita. I have a review and pictures at http://www.bombasticlife.com/paf_sou...ita_sweni.html

For what Singita Lodge Whichever costs they should have a petting area, don't they? Where I can pet and hold lion, leopard, cheetah cubs. Bottle feed baby elephants and rhinos. And orangutans are also one of my favorites so those also I hope. (Not too fond of chimps though).

cary - Orangatuns aren't found in South Africa. Gotta go to the other end of the world... Indonesia, Borneo!
There haven't been many posts from any who have stayed at Sweni; still too new. It's not unusual for game to be sparse in areas of a new property, if vehicles aren't seen by game, but Sweni has been open a few years... that situation should by now have changed.
bonbasticlife are the only comments, I've read.

Chimps to me are not "cute" plus they seem il-tempered and sometimes just plain mean.
Well, by "bait" I thought by now someone would have torn into me for suggesting that a safari camp should have animals to pet. But I guess you guys are just to savy to fall for my silliness![Imported](https://www.fodors.com/community/images/smilies/imported/smiley.gif)
