Weather in Kruger and Capetown mid to late October

What is normal for weather in Kruger and Capetown mid to late October. Need some ideas to better plan my packing.
We do visit Capetown first and then Kruger.

Mid to late October can be very hot in Kruger if the rains have not come yet. Talking about 100 degrees F or more on a sunny day. And very pleasant at night, not cold at all. It may be a little chilly due to the wind on an early morning game drive, but a light windbreaker will be the most you need there. If the rains have started, it can be a bit cooler but not cold. It will be warm no matter where you go in Kruger. October is one of my favorite times to visit Kruger.
Good time to visit Cape Town too. End of the rainy season and most likely to be dry and sunny. It can be windy in Cape Town, even in October, and more chance of a cold snap if you are unlucky. I would pack mostly summer clothing with a bit of warm gear for the evenings or the odd cold day.
Hope this helps!

We are trying to decide when to make a trip to SA - I was thinking maybe late-April, because Oct is difficult for us with work. Is late-April a decent time to go?

I was SA in mid May of 2007 for two weeks, Kruger area, and it was very nice. The mornings were a little cool but a light jacket worked. Had no rain, trees were green, grass/bush was not high so game viewing was good.

As long as we're asking, I've been thinking for next year of June-July time frame for Timbavati and Sabi Sand reserves. Comments?
