Question. I will be visiting Egypt this December of 2008. I am traveling from Cairo down to Abu Simbel. Which hotel would you recommend to stay at while there?

Also, if possible, any additional recommendations would be welcome. For example, unique excusions that are off the beaten track, restaurants, etc.

Can't really help with that. Abu Simbal is NOT that big though. You can walk from one end of it to the other in a short time. I'm sure your hotel will have informaiton about anything in Abu Simbal that is available to be done.

We stayed at the Seti - beautiful grounds (except where they were doing some construction) and setting, but awful food. I'd go again.
