Two things -

1. Our old curmudgeonly PC is making terrible grinding noises (that can't be good!) - so don't know how long I'll be online - I am hoping lasts till I go back to work on Monday!

All this Fodoring about for hours and days on end has been a real challenge for the old girl. So if I fall out of cyberspace for a while it will becuse the Oscar Gulf Foxtrot.
the Old Girl Failed

it's all your fault ! And whowants to spend $$$ on a PC when one has a 2008 Safari to pay for????

2.alpha juliette? Aw! c'mon now your just showing off! What is that an
Aardvark Juvenile !

Thembi: that's code for cheetah -- the latin is Acinonyx jubatus

Great thread, I didn't have time to put in my 2 cents but I'd just be a parrot of John and Hari anyway, we all have the same attitude on love of wilderness and the thrill of discovery.

Tom,
We are at about the same level with "deer like thing." That's a good one.

John,

There's a huge thread in the Fodorite Lounge on questioning one's religion. In the middle it contains a comment about grabbing a cheetah by the tail, or something like that. I keep thinking Hari will sniff that one out, pop over to the lounge, and put in his 2 cents on cheetahs.

Lynn,

I'm sure he will now.

Took me a long time to find the reference. Rather spend that time watching a cheetah, personally...a much more spiritual experience.

You can click Edit and then Find, type in cheetah to locate the reference more quickly.

Sometimes I have to first do Post a reply before the Edit and Find will allow me to locate the word/phrase I type in.

I'm certainly not trying to assign anyone any heavy reading!

My above statement assumes you have first found the thread. This is it and it's still at 127.

Thanks for the search tip, Lynn. Certainly makes it a lot easier. But I'm one of those who must check the context of something properly, so I guess I'm bound to be burdened by the heavy reading anyway. Actually, not a bad handicap to have if it helps you get through the small print of an insurance policy (we know the trouble some have with that )

Lynn....skimmed thru some of the posts. I like your quote,"Worship the earth and leave the rest to speculation".

On another note, can we worship cheetah? why not....here in India, we worship the elephant, the snake, the cow. Why not, cheetah?

Cheers,
Hari

We have turned a thread about a destination without any cheetah into one that worships them. Our work is done.
