Departure time change

I randomly stumbled on to a departure time change from JFK for late April: originally 8:20 PM; now 5:35 PM - no notice sent to us.
Unfortunately we arrive at LGA at 3:30 PM and the situation looks bleak.
The AL person told me to sit tight for another month as the times may change yet again.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks.

You could sit tight, but not for long. If it doesn't change to your advantage, you will have to be rebooked. Personally I would go ahead and call for rebooking. Good luck.

I wouldn't wait at all.

Does the airline have another departure that will work? I have had airlines cancel the flight number I was booked on, switch my reservation to a time several hours different, but have a new flight number with departure only a few minutes from the one I originally booked.

Are both flights on the same airline, and were they booked together? If so, the airline may be willing to buy you a flight on a competing airline. I got BA to do that a few years ago.

Sir: I would under no circumstances wait.Unfortunately, you were unlucky enough to get a true f@#$&head who just happens to work for an airline. They could take the position down the road, that you actually knew about the schedule change, and did nothing about it.Even tho, it was their res agent who suggested you do just that.Heaven forbid that fh put some remark in your reservation to that effect.Just my dos pesos.Buena suerte.(Estoy in Dallas ahorita....hace frio con fog y lluvia, pero no ielo!)

I just had something similar happen to me. I was scheduled on Continental and the flight was canceled (in April). I had to switch to Delta and Continental refunded my money. Then, the Delta schedule changed which would have involved an overnight stay to meet connections. Continental in the meantime, reinstated the original flight. Delta refunded my money and I am back on Continental.

Gracias mis amigos.
The AA flts are BJX-DFW-LGA and DAL JFK-BCN.
AA will not permit a very convenient DFW-JFK leg 'cuz it's 7 min over the limit lay over, despite the fact we know DFW, its immigration, customs/aduana, and transport like our children.
Guess we may have to overnight in NYC and spend one night less in Barcelona.

Mike, keep checking the schedule, hopefully there will be another, favorable change.

Check the price on CO's EWR-BCN flights on your dates. If okay, request a refund from DL and fly CO instead. CO departs EWR at 7:10p and you can probably save your day in Spain.

rkk,
Thanks, I have/did, but I refuse to fly a 757 in coach overseas.
Looks like Delta will allow a JFK-MAD-BCN leaving JFK at 8:10PM at no additional cost.
