My recent experience with Delta EC was interesting. The flight from ATL to CDG was full, and the EC was, to me, totally worth the $100 I paid. From LHR to ATL, however, the flight was maybe 2/3 full and there were lots of economy passengers spread out over more than 1 seat.
The FAs don't come around and offer more drinks of any sort, you have to go to the galley and ask.

cynthia, I know each plane is configured differently, but did the Delta plans you flew in EC have any kind of footrest? (We're flying JFK-IST in June on Delta EC)

did the Delta plans you flew in EC have any kind of footrest?

I'm about 95% sure that none of the EC seats have any kind of footrest. That being said, they provide enough legroom that a well-placed laptop bag would work nicely.

No footrest, but I usually use my carry-on for that.

Thanks - I actually bought the inflatable kind (my DH says he doesn't want one, so he can use his carry-on). I was wondering only because of the thread regarding Air France premium economy which said they had them.

AF's product is a completely separate class of service and they use seats which are sort of like old style business class seats. DL's EC is basically the usual coach seats with more recline and Pitch. There's a big difference in cost between the two, too.

I've flown Delta's EC on the A-330, B-767 and B-777.

The B-777 seats were extremely comfortable on LAX-SYD and DTW-HKG. The seats were wider than traditional economy. There was no "butt burn" from sitting 16 hours. The service appeared to be slightly better than when flying standard coach. I would pay again for the B-777.

The B-767 was flown on ATL-MUC. While the seats were slightly wider, the bang for the buck wasn't there. I probably would not pay more again. I've always found traditional coach to be comfortable on this aircraft.

The A-330 was flown on ATL-LIM. This was the trip to hell and back, as all my A-330 trips have been. The EC seats are narrower than traditional Boeing seats because of entertainment systems occupying space between the seats in the armrest. Depending on the seat, foot room may be lost again due to the entertainment system placed on the floor below certain columns of seats - "E" and "G". I would not recommend spending the extra money on Delta's Airbus EC seats. I also will not fly the A-330 unless there isn't a choice.
