Vanc BC to Balti - change in Denver...recommended time for immigration?
I'm looking at a flight from Vancouver to Baltimore, changing planes in Denver. The layover is 1:45 - is this enough time to allow for immigration? Must we leave the gate area...go through immigration and customs and then re-enter security and make our way back to our departure gate? Both flights are with the same airline and we will have carry on only.
I've flown international many times but never have had to change planes coming home...thank you.

For many Canada to USA flights you clear USA immigration and customs at the Canadian airport before you leave Canada, so arrival in the US is the same as any USA domestic flight (nothing special). It appears that Vancouver follows the same but you might want to check with your airline. See the following link http://www.yvr.ca/en/navigating-YVR/...rotection.aspx

Laurie Ann's answer is correct. You'll clear US Immigration and Customs at the airport in Vancouver before you ever your first flight. There's where you need to allow plenty of extra time. Find our from your airline how far in advance you need to check in.
