Ao To Ko Bungalows

My husband and I are traveling to Thailand and Cambodia this winter and wondering where to stay in Ko Phi Phi. I love the sound of Ao To Ko Bungalows in Ko Phi Phi - have read great reviews on Travelfish. The location sounds great - away from the main drag = quiet and peaceful. And it sounds like a great deal as well. Any helpful feedback?

This little site is just around the headland from Long Beach. Nice little bay and great off beach snorkeling. Quiet in terms of residents, but long tails pass by here all day long (and some of the night too), so it can be quite noisy. We checked this place out, in March of this year and were not really impressed. The grounds and beach were quite littered. Accomodation is VERY basic but I'm told renovations have been made since our visit. Tell me what you want at Phi Phi and a rough idea of budget and I can maybe offer other ideas.

Hi Leigh...

Thanks for your reply. We're looking to spend no more than $100 per night (preferably less....) for clean, quiet, accomodations. I don't mind being far away from the action at night as long as there is a good place to eat/drink near the hotel/bungalow. I'm also okay with basic as long as it's clean and safe.

travelday, after many years of visiting Phi Phi, we are quite clear that the best part to stay is at Laem Tong Bay. There are four hotels in this area but don't be mislead into thinking that it is noisy or busy. In fact....very laid back. The Zeavola and Holiday Inn may be out of your budget but Phi Phi Natural Resort and Phi Phi Erewan Palms should fit the bill.
Loads of pics and info on our site. Start by looking at

Thanks so much Leigh. Appreciate very much all your advice. I've heard good things about both Phi Phi Natural and Erwan Palms, but of course bad things as well. Can't please everybody all the time, but I do want to make sure that our hotel is clean. It's really my only major request.
