Can We Settle on Whether to Call it Myanmar or Burma?

In Myanamar everyone calls it Myanmar. On the news, even the Bangkok newspaper, all call it Burma.

I estimate that 50% of my posts are deleted. Which probably says more about <i>me</i> than Fodors... lol. I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

I expect that your posts were deleted because once they deleted the offending post you both pointed out, your posts no longer made sense.

and I use Google translate since I write in Thai so sometime the software mistranslate the Thai into English? Perhaps that is why most of my posts are deleted?

Burmese people (living overseas) refer to their country at Burma. It will always be that to me, never Myanmar. Just as Calcutta and Bombay will never be Kolkota or Mumbai.
