Crocs in India?

When visiting Asia a few years ago I ended up wearing my flip flops to the temples because I couldn't stand to get my feet dirty then put my good shoes back on. I am thinking about buying another pair of crocs and wearing them while visiting India this fall. They would be a little more protective than flip flops and I could wear them in the shower to keep them clean.
I wear them at home to do my yard work and love them. Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks.

Most places in India where you are required to take off your shoes will instead give you a pair of cotton booties to put over your shoes if you don’t want to remove your shoes. You may not need the crocs. I prefer bare feet as I love the feel of the marble, esp at the Taj, but the booties may be a proffered option to you. I can think of very few places that don’t have these booties, perhaps the Friday Mosque in Delhi and some other mosques. I don’t wear crocs so can’t comment on whether they would keep your feet any cleaner than flip flops, but would say that you will find a lot of dust on the roads and sidewalks (such as there are) in India. I wear flat closed shoes generally and my feet are always dirty anyway when I get done walking around for a day, so I don’t know that the crocs are going to help much in that department.

Obviously you'll still have to take of crocs visiting temples.
I like Crocs but it does not protect your feet from dust or wet stuff as they have holes around the feet.

No, you don't have to take them off when visiting temples, you can wear the booties....
