experience of AIRASIA from England to MALAYSIA

i have travelled on AIRASIA within ASIA on many occasions, i just want to find out from someone who has travelled from stanstead to Malaysia what their experiences of the airline are and if they would recommend it for a 12 hour flight or a more conventional airline like EITHAD or BRITISH AIRWAYS

A friend recently did this, and he survived it. He's a small guy though. I would probably opt for the larger seats at least.

The thing is, Ethiad and Qatar have had some deals on UK - Bangkok that were the same, or less, than the Air Asia flight. Given the option, I would go with a cheap fare on a full service airline, even if it meant a layover in between.

"Air Asia is like a refugee carrier."

That's about one of the most exaggerated (and overly dramatic) statements I've read on here in awhile. It's a budget carrier--they don't pretend to be anything but.

I would agree that I wouldn't choose to do a long-haul on ANY budget carrier. But as far as budget carriers go, Air Asia certainly is not the worst of the lot by a mile.

A trip report with photos etc of someone who flew that route a few weeks back, also interesting features the new Tune Hotel near Kl LCCT

No inflight entertainment whatsoever, not it seems even main screens. Anyway it's a very detailed report.

There are as Michael said many deals available with Etihad, Emirates, Oman Air, Turkish, Gulf Air etc from here to Europe,
