help planning trip to india
Hi all-
we are planning a trip to india in december for 2 weeks with our 9 and 4 year old children. we were thinking new delhi, agra, jaipur, and mumbai, but are open to other suggestions as well. Would appreciate any help with itinerary, with respect to places to see and do, how long in each city, hotels. any suggestions on how to arrange guides and drivers would also be much appreciated! thanks in advance!!

Do you have any idea what you'd like to do in each of the cities you mention? Your thoughts on the subject are the most pertinent and if you really have no idea, I suggest hitting the guidebooks so you can give more input. And what you'd like to see & experience helps with the allocation of days, how long you'd like to be in each, and if you have enough time to do those things at a sensible pace. With children you may find slower is better and your list too long, depending...which leads to...
Exactly how many nights will you be in India? Counting nights, rather than "days", will give a clearer picture of how many you really have, starting with lopping off the day you'll leave the country for home (unless it's a late night departure).
Do you have your flights booked and if so, in where? Out where? It's usually better to have an itinerary within the country first so you can fly into one city, out of another, to minimize days lost in transit.
What sort of places do you have in mind for hotels and what's your approximate budget per night? The range is vast and no one can make suggestions without knowing your preferences.
