Hong Kong Travel Budget Itinerary
Hi, we're going to Hong Kong this December. We didn't book for a tour. Because we're planning to explore it by ourselves. Any good places to go, activities, cheap place to eat, etc?

Cheap is not a commonly heard word in HK. But, interesting, tasty and healthy food can be found in many small noodle shops, places like Cafe Coral (Maxim'x is currently boycotted), Fariwood and of course, MCD.
Get some transport to Sai Kung: MTR, minibus for most folks. Look around this village with many western shops, local eateries, bakeries and fishing waterfront full of locals snapping up dried shrimps and live fish. Then hop on big bus for half-hour ride through county park to Wong Shek Pier and then grab local ferry to Grass Island.
Walk the easy trails of this island with old graveyards and great sea vistas. Have "cheap" lunch of seafood at small diner near pier. Then back to Whong Shek and Sai Kung. The transport is on time and frequent All told this might be most of a day, or stay in Sai Kung for a world class seafront seafood dinner, with many others enjoying the same ambiance along the waterfront.
Don't be in a hurry. Or you could spend US$100 for a bowl of soup at famous, ultra posh restaurant.
