Ko Samui or Krabi?!?!?!

Hi,
I will be travelling with three friends in November to SE Asia and we have about 3.5 days that we want to spend at the beach in Thailand to relax, snorkel, and the debate is whether we should go to Ko Samui or Krabi area? Which is more beautiful? Where is weather better in second half of November? Guide books give conflicting information about weather.
Thanks.

Here's the weather website: www.weatherbase.com Use Surat Thani for Samui.

As the monsoon is moving at that time of the year, the Phuket/Krabi side tends to be rainy at the beginning of the month and is less rainy by the second half of the month.

In November, there is less rain on the Krabi/Phuket side. So definitely head there and try to go towards the end of the month of you're flexible.

Ko Samui or Krabi area? Which is more beautiful?

For beautiful...Krabi wins hands down. The area around Railay Beach is one of the most beautiful locations in the world! In late November the weather will probably be better here too and the snorkeling around here is fabulous.

So for me....definitely Krabi.

I have the similar question. We will be there the end of January. I would like a beach that is beautiful, with good diving and a luxurious (though reasonable) resort. Great seafood is a must! We don't like cheesy, and don't want the hustle and bustle of Phuket. Any recommendations on Krabi versus Ko Samui?

Thanks!

Phuket has places with hustle and bustle as well as places that are quiet and isolated. It's a big place with a huge range of accommodation.

One person's reasonable is another person's unreasonable. If you want accommodation recommendations, you'll ned to supply a price range.
