Mandarin Oriental Premium Club

I've gathered from this forum that the MO is THE place to stay in Kuala Lumpur so I've booked 5 nights there for my trip to Malaysia in Sept/Oct---3 at the start of the trip and 2 at the end. I definitely want a view of the Petronas Towers and also want to stay on the club floor so I've got all 5 nights in a premium city view club floor room. It was quite a bit more expensive than a standard room and a fair bit more than a regular city view room on the club floor ($175++ as opposed to $157++) Is it worth the extra money for the premium room? What are the chances of getting a view of the Towers from a regular city view club room? Are there any other differences in the rooms? Thanks.

We have the same question. We're planning to be in KL Nov. 2-5 and my husband definately wants a tower view room on the MO club level. Anyone out there have any experience?

We stayed at the Mandarin in December and had a view of the Petronas Towers from our room on the 29th floor (the Club is on the 24th, if we recall correctly). Don't recall if this was "premium club" or just "club," but would suggest that you email the hotel directly to ask (our sense was that the best rooms were on the 29th and 30th floors). If the premium rate guarantees you a club room with a Petronas Towers view on a high floor, it is definitely worth the extra money in our opinion. The view (especially at night) is superb!

Thanks WinterTravel. I believe the club floors go from the 24th up. I guess when it comes down to it, it's only $18.00 a night more for the guarantee. When you're spending that much on a hotel, especially in a city where you can get a decent room for half the price, what's another $18 a night.

laurieco - we totally agree! If you think about how much you are spending to be in KL in the first place, why not have the best experience that you can afford -- the view was a highlight for us. Have a wonderful trip!!
