No non stop flight from Siem Reap to Luang Prabang?

I just hung up the phone with Bangkok air. I was told that non-stop flights from SR to LP are not available...all of them stop in different cities on the way.
At least that is what I got from the conversation....I had a difficult time understanding the very nice (and patient) woman who was trying to help me.

Does anyone have any experience with the Discovery Pass flights?

As I vaguely recall, Bangkok Air only flies FROM Luang Prabang TO Siem Reap, and not the other way round. I thought Lao flew in the other direction, but maybe they stop in Vientiane.

I thought I heard at one time that Bangkok air had an agreement with LAO air and LAO flies that part of the route???

I'm really confused as I had hoped to be able to fly direct from BKK to SR to LP and back to BKK with the discover pass.

The way Bangkok air explained it to me is that they don't have a non stop flight (or maybe I just wasn't understanding, or askiig the right questions) from SR to LP. It is a 3 1/4 hr flight with a stop in Ventienne (SP) or another city I didn't recognize) which I think will take up to much of our time in the air....it seems like you almost lose a day of vacation to travel.

I think that Vietnam airlines does this as a code share with Lao Airlines so it is not available on the discovery pass. It is on certain days of the week, not the days with the longer connecting flights. I think you have to buy it outside of the discovery pass if you want nonstop.

You might try reversing the order of your trip so you go from BKK to LP to SR and back, and ask Bangkok Air about that.

The extra city you didn't recognize is probably Pakse in southern Laos, which Bangkok Air just added to their schedule.

Reversing the order...that's a great idea...I'll call right now and ask.
Thank you very much...
I also heard back from Eddie but I can't decipher his email so I'm going to post another thread.
Thanks again....
