How much difference in price? Where are you flying to/from? How much do you treasure the extra room? How much do you treasure the monetary difference?
It is worth it for some, not worth it for others.

Sorry, I probably should have given you this information to begin with.
We would be flying from chicago (regular) and executive economy from Newark to Singapore directly. The extra cost is about $600 per person. I have flow on Singapore airlines before, but how does the executive economy differ from regular economy. I know there is more leg room and the seats recline further, but I wanted someone who has flow in that class to compare.
Thank you for taking the time to answer.

The reason I ask all those question is that there are many factors involved. One can't compare the seats as there are no regular economy on SQ's EWR-SIN and LAX-SIN flights.
Now, if one lives in LAX or NYC, then SQ's non-stop services are a plus, in terms of flight times. However, from ORD, you'll need a connection anyways, and it's actually slighlty faster to fly through Tokyo on the way out, and a lot faster coming back.
So, SQ's service is at a disadvantage in terms of travel time for Chicagoans, rather than an advantage.
I have not flown those planes, so no 1st hand report from me. But there are reports on flyertalk.com and elsewhere. It's definitely better than coach, but worse than most business class, as you'd expect.
It's hard to judge value. For example, I will not fly it even if it's just $300-400 more as I find coach seats on most flights to Asia tolerable. But will I pay $600 more to put my parents on a nicer seat? Probably if flight/travel time is reduced. Will I pay $600, but with a longer travel time? Probably not.
But that's just me. Some people will avoid coach seats at all cost. Only you can decide.

The premium economy/coach on the A 340-500s have 2 x 3 x 2 seating across instead of a normal 2x4x2, also extra legroom, as rkwan said on those aircraft there is no 'normal' economy/coach, it's just Raffles Class plus the premium economy seating

Just to add the service is supposed to be 'enhanced' over normal economy and there is a place where you can stand up/strecth etc at the back, if you search back there were some messages/reports on the LAX-SIN flights a few months back

Check out www.seatguru.com
If you look up your potential flights on Singapore Air you can find out what aircraft they are flying on your itinerary. Then go to seatguru.com and look up that specific aircraft for Singapore Air and it will tell you what seats are best and worst and what the differences are. It's extremely accurate. I use it before booking all my flight seating now.

I flew Singapore airlines on Executive Economy in February. It was great. Definitely worth the extra money in my opinion. If you can't afford a business class ticket (and I can't) this is as close as one gets to business class while sitting in the back of the plane. I slept great, the seat next to me was empty (I'd say only have the seats were empty in economy). The food was quite good, and of course the smiles on the Singapore girls were outstanding.
