Staying for more than 30 days on ROC authorization certificate

I'm planning to stay in Taiwan for 1.5 months through the ROC Travel Authorization Certificate. Although I can extend the standard 30-day limit by applying for another certificate, my problem is booking an air ticket — one of the required documents. Do I book the return tickets for the entire duration of my stay (30+ days) or cap it at 30 days?

I'm not sure if Taiwan authorities will be alright seeing a return ticket that goes beyond the ROC certificate limit. Has anyone tried to do this before? Any suggestion would be helpful.
