Special Restaruant in Sydney?

Hi again

Preparations almost complete for our wedding on New Year's Eve in Sydney Botanical Gardens.
Now just need recommendations for a restaurant for lunch after a very low key ceremony.
Only us and our witnesses, somewhere relaxed with good food and a good view would be perfect.
Thanks

Bee,
There is a restaurant in the Botanical Gardens - which I believe is very good, and would obviously be a good choice for your wedding party. I am not sure of its name, but with any luck someone with more knowledge of Sydney will reply as well. Otherwise I am sure you could find out by doing a search on Sydney Restaurants.

How about "Quay" (posh but amazing views and very special) or Doyles...both in Circular Quay.

Hi. Bee!
I think the restaurant Prue is referring to is "Pavilion in the Park", which has quite a good reputation, and a pleasant outlook, near the Art Gallery, but not a memorable view. If, after the ceremony, you stroll down towards the water, you are actually at the steps of the Sydney Opera House, so why not eat at the restaurant there? It is shaped like a mini-Opera House, has a fantastic view (naturally, given the position it's in at the water's edge looking straight back at Sydney and across to the Harbour Bridge) and it ought to be memorable enough to stand right up there beside your wedding ceremony in the Gardens. The restaurant's name is the Bennelong, and the phone number is 9250 7548. It's extremely popular, and on New Year's Eve will be even more so, so don't leave it till the last minute to contact them if this is your choice.

In September the restaurant at the Opera House was closed for remodeling. I recommend the dining room at the Park Hyatt. Wonderful three course lunch with wine for something like 35 US. Lovely views of the Opera House and harbor. Congratulations.

Bee,
Yes, the restaurant I was thinking of is Pavilion in the Park - but I do agree with the suggestion of the Opera House - there was an article in the Sydney paper on Tuesday saying it had re-opened under new management and they were expecting it to be better than ever. The views from that area are wonderful.
