Whitsundays Sailing and Resort Stay Planning Help

Hello. We will be in Australia in November. We have 7 nights that we would like to do the following:
-depart Sydney
- 1-2 nights sailing/diving in the Whitsundays(looks like most boats leave from Abel Harbor)
- then 2-3 nights at Hayman Island (unless there are other recommendation)
- end with 3 nights at Lizard Island to relax and dive

Does anyone have information or websites where we could do the planning for this - trying to figure out the sailing(since it's a short trip) and getting to Hayman island portion.

Thanks.

Hi Kathi,

My husband and I sailed the Whitsundays a few years back and used Whitsunday Rent A Yacht and were very pleased.

We sipped on the Solway Lass, a restored tall ship for 3 days and nights and really enjoyed it. I recollect 375 pp

Wow, Kathi, you must have plenty of money. Both Hayman & Lizard Island, would have to be the two most expensive islands on the Qld coast.
I am sure you will enjoy both of them.
Hayman Island Resort is very plush, and is situated in the Whitsundays, which is very touristy these days, but Lizard, is north of Cairns, and extremely beautiful. Out of the 2 islands, I think you will enjoy Lizard Island the most, but who knows?
As for the sailing in the Whitsundays, well that will be a real blast.

Not lots of money! Using FF miles for the flights and hotel points for the 'chain' hotels(i.e. Park Hyatt in SYD) - so blowing the saved cash from this on the other places!

After more thought, maybe it would be better to do a 3-4 day sailing and skip Hayman altogether and possibly spend an extra night at Lizard.
