Getting around in B.C.
Hello,
We are spending a week in the B.C. area. Our plan is to spend 3 days in Vancouver, 2 days in Whistler and the last night in Victoria. We already have our hotels reserved. What we need help with is transportation between the 3. We do not want to rent a car.
1) Best way to get to our hotel (Pacific Palisades Hotel) from the airport?
2) Best way to get to Whistler from downtown Vancouver?
3) Best way to get to Victoria from Whistler?
4) Best way to get to the airport (in Vancouver) from Victoria?
I've resisted registering onto Fodors for a long time but since I have gotten great information here many times before registration, I decided to go for it.
Thanks, Terri

1) taxi to hotel
2) see hotel concierge for coach (bus) transportation to Whistler
3) I assume you're on a budget, otherwise I'd suggest a helicopter service. Best economical way is to take the same coach back to downtown, then take Greyhound bus to Victoria (via ferry). That's a full day of travel from Whistler to Victoria. Helicopter is 1 1/2 hours.
4) floatplane service or helicopter (seriously)
I think you may have underestimated distance and travel time to Victoria (on Vancouver Island). Good luck!

1. if you are on a budget there is an airporter bus you could take. Taxi will cost about $30
2. You can take the Greyhound from Science World to Whislter...3+ hours
3. Greyhound back...then either take the bus to the ferry, take the ferry adn then bus into Victoria...the ferry terminal is quite aways from Victoria.
You may be better off renting a car

Thanks for the info. I'm glad I asked. We've decided to cut out Whistler and add a day in Victoria and spend the last night in Vancouver to be closer to the airport. We live in Colorado so can get away to the mountains anytime. What we don't have is water!
Greg- Thanks for the list of websites. I will check them out!
