We go to Vancouver a couple of times a year and always stay at the Granville Island Hotel (very nice place by the way-don't get me wrong!) but we were thinking of going up again for a short anniversary weekend and would like to stay some place different...close to town/in town and not a B&B...any suggestions?<BR>Thanks!L

How about the Wedgewood? It's on Hornby Street just opposite the courthouse; it's smallish, elegant, rather like a European boutique-style hotel with a fantastic restaurant.

I, too, would recommend the Wedgewood Hotel. It is small, qaint. It is right in the heart of town, close to trendy shops, restaurants. For an anniversary weekend this would be ideal.<BR><BR>Coco.

The Opus Hotel recently opened... it's supposed to be the new artsy/trendy hotel, in Yaletown, which is the south-east corner of downtown. That might be another idea:<BR><BR>http://www.opushotel.com/

Hey! Thanks very much- these two hotels were exactly what I was trying to find. Looks like the trip is postponed though but we'll be up there in January for our annual birthday Canucks game...and these hotels are closer to BC Place.<BRL

Another hotel choice you may want to consider is the Sutton Place. Good location and has that small hotel atmosphere.
