Kelowna restaurant and winery questions??

We are visiting Kelowna for a convention this week, staying at the Cove Lakeside Resort. We will be arriving around 9 - 10 p.m., and wanted to know if anyone can recommend a decent restaurant for dinner near our hotel that would still be open at that time of night.

We also have some free time one day, and would like to visit some local wineries and perhaps have lunch at one of them. We would appreciate any recommendations from anyone who has visited this area.

Thank you so much for any advice!

K.C.

For your 'free time' one day -- here's where our daughter loves to go - she travels to Kelowna, and environs on business quite regularly -- good wines and tour, and good food too!!

The Quail's Gate winery is beautiful and has a great restaurant too. We took a tour there last October - very informative. It's on the other side of the lake from Kelowna, in Westside or West Kelowna or whatever they are calling it now.

Actually Quail's Gate is just a few minutes from the Cove Resort on the same side of the lake in West Kelowna.

Hi all,

Although the Summerhill Pyramid Winery looked fantastic, we decided to stick to "West Kelowna" due to the driving involved. We ended up having 2 lunches (!), one at Mission Hill and one at Quail's Gate - we enjoyed our time at Quail's Gate much more than at Mission Hill, which we found a bit pretentious and quite spendy for what you got. For example, we ordered apple pie with cheddar cheese for dessert to share, and were shocked to see the size of the cheddar cheese on the plate - about a 1 cm square - no lie! It was so small we couldn't even divide it in half - ha! I must admit though that the apple pie was tasty.
In short, we would recommend Quail's Gate over Mission Hill!
Thanks for all replies!
