PEI - Dalvay by The Sea

I've been hearing about this place all my life. would love to stay there when we go in late August. Is it worth the price??? If not, what is a good (2 or 3 ) places to stay? thanks.

I just returned from a stay there. I am topping my trip report. In a word, yes.......it is worth it. If you decide it is too expensive, Kindred Spirits is wonderful. I loved it there.

cmcfong: thanks for the recommendation for Dalvay. I think we'll try to stay there. I read your whole report and it is much appreciated. We're going to PEI, driving up from Maine, at end of August, and can't wait. Part of my husband's family comes from there, but we've never gone before - so it will be fun.

Have a wonderful time, Betsy. I did do a hotel evaluation on Trip Advisor if you want to check there. Dalvay is lovely and we have nothing but happy memories of our stay with them.

I did check your report, and we are definitely staying there for three nights. My friend just got us a three bedroom cottage, so we'll really enjoy some space, some touring and some beach walking, in addition to their good food. I'm persuaded by the great food reviews also. thansk for your help (on all these forums!)

Glad to do it, Betsy. I think you will enjoy the cottage! I was pretty pleased with the quality of the rental bikes, so consider that. It is nice to ride in a big wide bike lane, with no litter or road kill (unlike my home state of North Carolina!) Be sure and do a trip report so I can enjoy Dalvay all over again!
