Searching for Seaside Luxury on East Coast Canada
Hello. I am looking for a wonderful "paradise" on the East Coast in Canada. This is for my husband and myself looking for a beautiful view, beautiful accomodations, peace, quiet, and healing. Any ideas?

I agree about the Keltic Lodge. Haven't stayed in it, so can't comment personally on the accommodation, but have stayed within eyesight of it. Played golf there - adjacent to a famous golf course. Also it's located within one of the most spectacular national parks in Canada - Cape Breton Highlands and the scenic Cabot Trail. It's on a narrow rocky/wooded peninsula jutting out into the ocean, surrounded by bays. Lots of scenic drive opportunities as well as several good day trip destinations nearby.
I've heard of the Inn at Bay Fortune on PEI, but in my opinion if you want beautiful views, Cape Breton is one of the top spots in North America for scenery. There is also a "chalet" resort at the north end of Cape Breton which I remember has some spectacular views also and is probably a bit more quiet and remote - can't remember the name although it should be easy to find (order the free NS government booklet "Doers and Dreamers Guide"

Unless there has been dramatic reno, the rooms at Keltic Lodge are VERY small yet very expensive. The views are stunning, but the windows are miniscule - just look at a picture of the exterior and you can see what I mean. We did a 2 day package there, and enjoyed the scenery, and the food is brilliant, but the rooms I am sure do not meet the luxury you seek.

Yes, I agree with Tanya..." a room of one's own" might be a better option. For really superior selections check out www.stayinnovascotia.com. Most are close to communities with excellent restaurants and the views from some are spectacular.

I agree with OliverandHarry. Although it has been several years since I stayed at the Keltic Lodge, I was disappointed in their rooms. Far from luxurious. View is spectacular, food delicious, great golf course and beach nearby, and public rooms are pleasant.
