From NY and Flying to toronto with my husband and 24yr old son in July. Can't choose between Royal York and Sutton Place. Will be having 2 rms. We love touring. Which hotel would meet our needs best? The rates are the same. Also want to go to Second City. Different format on Sunday nites there from other nites any suggestions any recommendations or other things for the evening?

Stay at the Royal York; it's in the heart of lots to do, is, I believe, 70 years old, looks sort of like a castle, and is a ten minue walk through an interesting part of town from Second City. sutton Place is just another luxury hotel, and it's in the middle of a government area that's pretty quiet on weekends. Royal York is close to the harbor, which is worth a visit.Hockey Hall of Fame is next door, 50 good restaurants are within ten minutes walk, as are several live theatres, a huge late night bookstore, many bars and clubs with a variety of entertainment styles. Second City is more improv on sundays, more sketch comedy on other nights. Why not go twice? Once here, you'll find Eye and Now, two free entertainment-oriented weeklies, easily enough (bars, hotels, restaurants, some newsstands) listing all kinds of things to do. Also, try Toronto.com
BAK
Thanks. Brian. Have confirmed the Royal York i'm sure it will be great. One other question to you or anyone, if we want a bus tour for a couple of hours when we first arrive to get a good overview of Toronto is there a company or person you would recommend?
June

You can pickup brochures in the hotel lobby. There are two kinds of tours; one where you stick with the same group for several hours, on Grey Line buses that look like highway-style busses, and a seconbd kind where the bus runs a regular route andyou get off, look at some attration or neighborhood, and then get back on the next bus from thesame company, and continue to another point. OF this kind, there are at leat two bus lines. One uses imation trolley-style buses, and the other, which I'd take, uses double-decker buses. Lots of info at the hotel, and I'm sure the Royal York in on the route, so you'll just have to go out the hotel door.
BAK
