Vancouver Hotel Areas

Hello,

I will be in Vancouver for 2 nights in mid-July, arriving on the ferry from Victoria and departing via Amtrak. I always like to stay near the water, if possible, and see the historic section of a city and any other interesting spots (not museums). I plan to bid on a hotel via Priceline and I need to pick a region. The choices are:

Coquitlam - Burnaby
Delta
Langley
Surrey
Vancouver
Vancouver Int'l Airport

I think the "Vancouver" region, which looks to be the "downtown" area right on the water is my best choice...?

Any advice/suggestions from Vancouver experts would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Go to www.biddingfortravel.com. This is an info-message board for people using priceline. The answer will probably be there with the amount you should bid. Its a great help when using priceline.

There's a great deal of Hotel info in the older posts-do take the time to read as many as you can.

Yes 'Vancouver' is where you want to be-the suburbs offer little of interest to visitors.

Good God Girl! Downtown Vancouver is the only place to be for what you're looking for. At the very least, if you are staying outside of the Downtown Peninsula - and it really won't be that much less expensive - you want to be within a block or two of a Skytrain Station which will take you downtown quickly and efficiently. Virtually all the other areas you've specified are suburbs and about as interesting as Cleveland.

Hello and thank you to all!

I use biddingfortravel.com for all my Priceline needs! I just wanted to confirm the area where I want to be, and downtown it is!

Thanks again,

PS As a former resident of Cleveland, I must add that I liked it -- honest!
