Advise on hotels please!

Hello. I was wondering if anybody knows about the Ponce area in Puerto Rico. Some of my friends and I were pondering about staying at Compamarina in Ponce, but we had read some bad reviews on the hotel. And now we're thinking about booking a week at the Ponce Hilton and Casino. So I was looking for some advise. And another question, is it better to stay in the south during March? Or is there not a big difference? So please help us out! Thank you!

The Copamarina is not in Ponce but in Guanica, west of Ponce. Literally, it is in the boondocks and unless you have a rental car you won't be traveling very far from the hotel. Rain or showers should not be a problem but March isn't a bad month to be anywhere in PR

Sonia, we were at the Ponce Hilton for Christmas week and had a wonderful time. The hotel is lovely, nice grounds, pool, several restaurants and a casino. The people there are fabulous. Breakfast buffet was outstanding! Our room had a large patio and faced the sunset which we enjoyed every night with a glass of wine before going out to dinner. The hotel is located on the beach (dark sand here but it is still nice) and close to Ponce, museums, shopping dining, etc. Best beaches are towards Rincon. We took a drive to the Copamarina to check it out and we were glad we chose the Hilton. We found out that in the winter it can be rainy in the north and sunny in the south. While we were there we heard it rained all week in SJ while our weather was glorious! Be sure to eat at Pito's when you go. Call the Hilton and ask for a brochure. You will get it in a few days. You will have a great time!
