After much debate: Stayed at Breezes MoBay

We just returned from Breezes in MoBay, after sending out questions about which Breezes was better MoBay or Runaway Bay we decided to stay in MoBay. If anyone out there is planning a trip to Breezes I can answer a few questions. Also Julias resturaunt in the mountains is absolutely beautiful and some of the best food I have eaten.

Just who I was looking for! Have to book our honeymoon pkg. in a couple days-here's our dilemma!
13 nights deluxe ocean view room at Breezes MoBay or:
19 nights $200 more- but that's through the Super Surprise Plus pkg.
you don't know until a week before you leave if you will be staying at a Grand Lido, Hedonism, or Breezes.
We would get to elimate 1 of the resort groups.
Originally we were going to eliminate Hedonism, but then we realized that there was a good chance that we would get stuck in a "cabin" (at Breezes MoBay), the brochure says it is about the same size as a cruise ship cabin (and everyone complains about how small those are!), there is no balcony, and the windows look out over the mtns. or ROAD! (not something i want to spend $5000 on!)
So now we are considering eliminating Breezes and keeping Hedonism, because at least you would get a room with a view and a balcony.
The main concern I have about that is that Hedonism sounds like spring break-I'm 39, he's 37 (first marriage for both, so we're thinking romance, not spring break!!!
Any advice, feedback, etc is GREATLY appreciated (ASAP!!!!).
thanks loads! teri

Yes, the rooms without the balconies are very very tiny. We met a couple there from Texas who was staying in a cabin and so we got to see it. Fortunately we had an Ocean View room that was small but fairly nice. Hedonism is not a place I would stay, talked to many people at Breezes who stayed there, said it was more for singles who liked to run around naked, lots of adult movie stars go there they even have contests on the playboy channel where they give away trips to Hedonism. The beach at Breezes was very nice, the food was great, but the service was terrible. It was about impossible to get them to exchange money for us, and using the telephone in your room is more money and hassle than it is worth. But all in all we enjoyed are stay and you are within walking distance of Margaritaville and lots of shopping, and the watersports are very enjoyable. The snorkeling is very good right off the beach there, but don't swim at night I ended up with a jellyfish sting. Good luck I hope this helps.

If this is your hneymoon, and unless you are swingers definately eliminate Hedonism. Its mainly singles and swingers, the main activity there is casual sex. Its not forced on you, just so in your face, after a (short) while it becomes annoying. Not romantic at all. The resort itself is nothing special, and the beach is very small. I stayed at the Breezes property in Nassau, Bahamas, and it was a nice crowd, better service, and much nicer beach and grounds, I recommend that property highly.

Is this the Breezes with the golf course, or is that the one at Runaway Bay? If it is the same, can you give me a report on the rooms, activities, etc.? If not the same one, can you share why you chose this one over the other? Thanks

No this is not the one at Runaway Bay. The reason we chose MoBay is the location. Runaway Bay is a good 1 1/2 - 2 hours from the airport and out in the middle of nowhere. This would be fine if you wanted to just stay at the resort, but we wanted to do and see other things. They also said the beach was nicer at the one at MoBay it is on Doctor Caves Beach which was very nice. The other thing about the rooms in Runaway Bay is you get the run of the house you can't pick the room you want like we did at MoBay, we got an ocean view room with a balcony, very beautiful view. I guess it just depends on what you are going to go there to do. I heard the one at Runaway Bay is very nice.
