Aruba Resort and Spa (formerly Wyndham, soon to be Westin)

Has anyone stayed a the Aruba Resort and Spa recently? I know it used to be a Wyndham and it is slated to become a Westin as of December 20 -- but my partner and I have a trip planned for right before Thanksgiving and are considering it.

We don't want to risk the construction at the Hyatt -- and a recent post mentioned that there is actually construction in the restaurants at the Radisson as well... and the prices I am getting at the Aruba Resort and Spa are significantly more affordable.

Any recent info would be helpful!

Thanks!

I'm curious about this resort also. We received a flyer from Liberty Travel about this resort, but I didn't know it was the old Wyndham. Is there anyone out there who has stayed there recently?

We stayed there about 6 years ago. It's a very nice hotel.

Hello dhm49.
My husband and I will be staying at the Aruba Resort Spa Casino Thanksgiving week. Maybe we'll see you at the pool! By the way, we got the best price at the Aruba Resort Spa Casino website directly. Never been to Aruba. I called the hotel directly to ask whether things will be open or closed because of the construction - they said everything should be running just fine. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Have you been to Aruba before? Linda

Linda -- thanks for the reply. Yes we'll keep our fingers crossed... we dealt with the hotel's American agent directly adn got a great price as well... I am hoping the service will be OK. We've never been to Aruba before either and are looking forward to it -- but even if we wind up doing nothing but lay on the beach for five days, I think we'll get what we've needed Feel free to say hello if you see us -- we're a gay couple and I have a feeling there won't be many others...
