Barbados Night Life
Mid May 2008, a thirty something couple with no kids - looking for night time activities in Barbados. Is Oistens a hot spot, and if so what time? We like most things, blues, pop, rock, local sights, etc. What do you suggest?

I dont know about Oistins as we never made it there. We did enjoy the bar at both Daphnes and The Lone Star Restaurants for drinks. Daphnes serves great cocktails and is pretty classy. Where as The Loan Star is a bit funky and the bar staff was fun. Word of warning.......have reservations for dinner and sometimes even lunch. It seems Bajans dont like to "over cater" as they said. We really liked the island. Also for what its worth, we had a blast on The Cool Runnings Catamaran luncheon cruise.

Oistins on Friday night is a definite "must". Things start to get lively from about 8 until .....
Just up the street from there is a new place called Surfers Cafe. Fab location right on the water, good prices, good food, live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Closed on Sundays. Open from about 11am.
In Holetown there is a piano bar called Lexy's, plus 2nd Street in Holetown becomes a street party on Friday nights. Live music at 39 Steps Wine Bar on Saturday nights. The Plantation does a floor show with dinner and dancing most nights of the week.
Live music at The Beach House in Holetown on Friday nights. The Hilton also has live entertainment on various nights with themed buffets.
And there are loads of other places not mentioned here. But St Lawrence Gap is a good place to start. Oh, Jumbie's has live entertainment some nights too.

We had a great time at Lexy's. It is a very small sing along bar but it was our favorite night there. I thought that the Oisten's Fish Fry was a little overrated. It was very similar to an outdoor street festival with vendors but not much entertainment.
