My girlfriend and I are looking to go to Negril during the week of March 19. We are on a tight budget and need advice on cheap but clean places to stay and how to get the best airfare. Any help out there?

Go to Negril.com and proceed to their "where to stay" section and select "cliffs" or "beach" depending on where you want to stay. Also, place your query on the message board there. You will definately get an answer.

Chris, as far as a good airfare, in addition to checking commercial airlines call a travel agent and have them check with tour companies who deal with charters. You may be limited to certain travel days a week but they can be considerably cheaper than commercial.

My daughter and her roommate set up a group from NC State for Spring Break the week before you're going. Try the web sites mentioned above -- check out SamSara on the cliffs-- we visited there, had a nice lunch and snorkeled off their cliffs. It is clean and inexpensive -- expect around $80 night? There are less expensive places across the road from the ocean front, but with access to the sea simply by walking across the street. Have fun. Remember Island Time is "soon come" meaning, chill out and don't worry no one is in any hurry.

Go to Alfred's Ocean Palace, 30.00 US a night. Good place, good food, Ratsa's live there, reggae music at night, bamboo fire's at night, party place. <BR>

oh yes ditto on the tip for Alfred's <BR>When they have a great reggai band live, they just keep putting picnic tables out on the beach, nearly into the water. Music is fine. Red Stripes at $1 a piece. Irie
