Upper or lower wouldnt matter to a lizard as they will get to where they want to be anyway. That said, they're not any happier to be that room than you are about them so I wouldnt worry. As for the "beachfront" rooms. In my opinion there really are only couple of these rooms and since they are in the older(annex) section, I dont know that I'd want to be in one. Yes there are some rooms in the newer section that I suppose could technically be beachfront, but where they are placed (next to kitchen and near snack stand)would not make them appealing to me either. If it were me I'd just take an upper room in the orignal (not annex) section and not worry or pay extra for anything else. (lizards or not

I can't help you with your lizard issues. They are all over the Caribbean. That said, I don't think there will be any large iguanas trying to enter your room on either level .

Are you referring to the block of four rooms right next to the Idle Awhile property? We stayed in the upper level of that block and really liked it. I think our room number was 729 or something close to that. It was clean and comfortable.

Yes I am talking about those rooms right by idlewhile..so you liked the upper room...would you have chosen the lower level the next time...okay I am afraid of those small lizards and just hope they are not always in the rooms.

I would probably choose the upper level if we return and it has nothing to do with lizards. It just seemed a little more private. The lower level rooms are literally right on the beach. I never saw a lizard in the room, but watch out for the tiny ants. I recommend not leaving any food sitting out. By the way, this is not unique to Negril. We frequently stay at Gallow's Point on St John and there are several resident iguanas. They have always been afraid of us rather than seeking us out. The little gecko type lizards are everywhere. Last time at Gallow's Point, I thought i saw something very tiny move on the floor. Turned out to be an itsy, bitsy frog smaller than a dime.
