cruising out of san juan

We are a family of 7, doing a southern caribean cruise out of san juan.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a limo/taxi service that goes from the airport to the cruise port?

Also, what is the distance between the airport and cruise port?

Thanks!

You can probably just take a cab. Many if these are vans that will hold 7 people. At any rate, you certainly do not need to arrange transportation in advance and can always split up into two groups if you need to fit into smaller taxis. If you're leaving from the pier in Old San Juan, the travel time from the airport is usually less than 30 minutes, but that's heavily dependent on the traffic.

Thanks Doug. Any idea approximately what the cost is from the airport to the pier (or viceaversa)?

taxi fare is a fixed rate and should be in the region of $20 + 0.75 for each luggage

Plenty of vans at the airport

Are you sure the transfer from the airport to the port is not included? Whenever we've sailed out of San Juan we have had the transport included in our booking. The cruise line usually has representatives at the airport showing you to the bus.

Port transport is usually not included if you book your own airfare, which I'm assuming is the case here.

Folks - thanks for the responses.

Doug is of course correct that we booked the airfare separately.

It is also very important to verify which port your ship leaves from so you do not get taken to the wrong one. There are two ports in San Juan, so verify with the cruise line which one you will be using.

San Juan taxi rates are by the taxi. Two or 7 people, if you fit in one vehicle, then it's the same rate.

Thanks Doug. I thought it was per taxi but just wanted to make sure so I didn't have sticker shock upon arrival!
