Favorite Anguilla Restaurants
Looking for great places to eat in Anguilla...we love food and don't believe that the most expensive places are always the best...although price is not a factor...quality of food is #1.
SO: Where is your favorite place to eat and why?

There are over 80 restaurants on Anguilla and much has been written about them on this and other travel forums. It's hard to pick out the "best" but for starters try the following all of which have something good to offer and usually get consistantly good reviews (listed in no particular order or price range):
Altamer
Blanchard's
Tasty's
Flavor's
Trottaria Tremonto (sp?)
Barrel Stay
Ripple's
Johnno's
Mango's
Oliver's
Old House
Malliouhana
Straw Hat
Koal Keel
Zen
Smokey's
Deon's Overlook
Ferry Boat Inn
Pimms
Bistro Phil's
Uncle Earnie's
Zen
That's just for starters - so many restaurants - so little time!!! The only way to deal with it is to keep going back to the island for more visits.

Altamer--Lovely stetting. Nightly music. Fish sampler entree.
Tratoria tratmonto. Another great setting--Lobster ravioli !!!
Mangos--On the beach. Live music Mon and Thurs. Lobster cakes and snapper.
Picante--Great margaritas, seafood enchilladas, tequilla lime brick chicken and sinful chocolate pudding.
Blanchards--Lovely garden setting. have never had a bad meal there. Melinda Blanchard is an excellent cook. See if you can find a copy of A Trip to the Beach by Bob and Melinda Blanchard. Very good read.
E's Oven--Very casual. Wonderful 1/2 baked chicken $8 probably the best chicken I've ever had.
Tastys. Excellent breakfasts lunch and dinner. Try the seafood salad. The fish is excellent.
Koal Keel--In the Valley on left side of road to Crocus Hill. Entertainment nightly Ambrose is a great waiter. food excellent. If someone has time ask them to show you the wine cellar. Used to be a slave holding quarters. After dinner free rum tasting.
Straw Hat--On the water overlooking St Martin. Wonderful food and ambiance. Try the crayfish.
HIbernia--If you are into food with an Asian flair HiberniA is excellent. It is in Island Harbour but worth the drive. The have a nice art gallery of far east art
Scilly Cay on Sunday Happy Hits play. Try the lobster/crayfish platter. Chicken excellent too. Killer rum punches. Expensive but worth doing once.
Johnnos in Sandy Ground. On the beach. Try the Snapper sandwiches and colodas.
Barrel Stay in Sandy Ground. Food is excellent. Lobster Salad, Fish Cakes and if you're craving a burger the Herford Beef burger with caramelized onions is excellent.
Roys Bayside. Also Sandy Ground on the beach. Fish and Chips

Thanks Howard. I think I must have been scanning the website quickly. The website says that Tasty's Cafe is only open for breakfast and lunch. Tasty's Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I was confused. Thanks for the clarification.

Tasty's was closed on thursday for dinner in July last month when we were there, so we missed it, leaving the island on friday boohoo--it came so highy recommended. it is important to check which nights places are closed, who does or does not serve lunch, etc. But the good news is so many places, such great food, you can always find a great spot...i am so envious, and we were there only one month ago.

The Bob Green wesite states they are open Tues-Sun for Bfast, lunch, and dinner. So maybe things have to change, depending on the season,or whatever. Just know they were closed the day we stopped by to eat, actually may have been lunch we were seeking that Thursday. Sorry for not remembering if it was lunch or dinner.

CJ has it's 3 restaurants of course, but I do not recall any others near enough to walk. Can anyone else out help on that? But yes there are many that are only a short cab ride away, or short drive away if renting a car. We loved CJ when we were there last year, you will not be disappointed!!

CJ is a wonderful hotel, great beach, all 3 restaurants on the water, fantastic setting! You will love it! The view at Georges, the water splashing on the rocks at Kemia, the villas lit at night as you sit at Pimms.
And all the other wonderful places to dine on this little island!
It is hard to pick the best, most of my choices are all within a 10 minute ride from the hotel. You might walk to Smokeys at Cove Bay (next door to CJ),
some brave souls have walked to Trattoria Tramonto, it had to be a hike!
Anguilla has too many choices, quality food at all different prices! Howard has given you a great list!

Notthing really within walking distance. I am not that big on resort restaurants. Prefer local independent restaurants. Trattoria Tratmonto, Mangos, Altamer, Picante and Blanchards are a short cab ride from Cap. Probably around $10. E's Oven and Tasty's around $15 one way. Koal Keel and Straw Hat are probably $20-$25 one way. Hibernia would be about $35 one way. Makes for expensive dinners. I really recommend a rental car for part of the stay to explore Anguilla and It's beaches. Drive down to Sandy Ground for lunch at Barel Stay, Johnnos or Roy's Bayside
