gallows point resort?

My fiance and I will be taking our honeymoon to St. John in April 2002. I'm trying to decide on where to stay. I have seen some comments on the Westin, but nothing on Gallows Point. It looks nice, but is it really? Any input or other nice places to stay would be appreciated.
Chris, Gallows Point is a nice place but may I suggest a private
Villa instead?! You'll pay the same as at Gallows Point off-season and you'll have alot more privacy. For $150 per night I got a big,beautiful,2 Bedroom Villa with a big, beautiful, private pool all to ourselves. It was great!

I have used Gallows Point several times and clients loved it. I think the Villa idea is wonderful also, but you will forgoe the hotel amenities, (room service) etc.

Room service at Gallows? I don't think so. Daily maid service, yes. But basically you will be self-catering. Gallows is a condo complex right on the harbour as you come into Cruz Bay. The property is nice, within walking distance to Cruz Bay restaurants, ferry dock, etc. Some units overlook the Harbour; some get very noisy from Town. St. John Suites handles some of the units and the rest are handled by some other agent whose name I cannot remember. No beach but people report snorkling there off the rocky spot of sand is good - but you are in the harbour with all the boats! All the units will be a/c'ed this year. if you are interested in villas, go to www.stjohnlinks.com and there is enuf there to confuse you. There are many other sites dedicated to the villas but either at the Westin, Gallows or 99.9% of the villas you will be jeeping or commuting to the wonderful beaches.

Sorry Karen, I didnt mean to imply that Gallows Point had room service, but that staying there or the Villas you lose hotel amenities. Thanks for clarify my post for me.
