Grace Bay hotel choice
Planning a first trip to TCI next winter. Considering West Bay Club, Alexandra, the Sands and Royal West Indies. Strongly leaning toward West Bay Club except for the slightly out of the way location.
While we love long stretches of quiet beach (and don't care at all about nightlife) we also want to be in walking distance to a good selection of restaurants and worry that WBC without a car might be limiting. Would we be better off elsewhere?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

west bay club really is very nice & i think the location is perfect!!! however, it is not in walking distance to much. no matter where you stay you're probably going to have to taxi or rent a car to get to your chosen restaurants. provo has such outstanding dining i'd hate for you to skip over given places because you can't walk to them.
keep in mind that driving from west bay club to club med is approx 15 mins.

The WBC seems to have higher ratings on trip advisor. Your selection may have to do with how much time you are planning on spending around the hotel and on the beach. I usually do not venture out much since the beach is so outstanding!

WBC is a step up from the other 2, not a true comparison.
I personally would not rate hotels just on the not renting a car factor, as it's a 12 mile beach, so doesn't matter where you stay you'll need a car eventually, much cheaper than taxi.
No one resort is close to all the great restaurants and places and exploring and supermarkets. Alexandra and Sands are closer to the hub, so you can wa around. RWI is closer to the main hub but far to walk to snorkel. All 3 are very nice mid range resorts.
WBC is the nicest sort of your choices.

I stayed at the WBC in February with my husband. I absolutely loved the hotel and the location. I did like the fact that it was further away from the other hotels. It is located on a great stretch of beach. We are already booked to go again in February, 2012.
