Grenada trip cancelled

I should never plan anything in advance! Right before we were scheduled to go to Grenada, my husband ended up having his gall bladder removed. It couldn't be done laproscopically so he had to have "a grand opening" which means a long recovery period.

Both Spice Island and Laluna were kind enough to say we could have a credit for what we had paid (even though we were within the cancel penalty period, and Spice Island was thru skyauction.com) so I rescheduled for next year and just have to hope and pray no more medical issues come up! I can't tell you how many trips have had to be cancelled for medical reasons.

I hope all is well.

I never purchase trip cancellation insurance myself (I take my chances), but perhaps this is something that could provide you with some peace of mind for your next trip, just in case. Of course when you plan for the worst, the worst doesn't happen!

How disappointing! I guess that's the thing about insurance - you always hope that you'll never need it. Good luck next year.

Awww sorry to hear this. That was really gracious of Spice Island and La Luna to let you have the credits for a future stay. Best wishes to your husband for a speedy recovery.

Yes, it was extremely gracious of the hotels to allow me to use the credits for a future stay. My husband is doing well, and here's hoping we can go next year.

Wow! I'm so sorry about the medical issues y'all have experienced but just as glad to hear that your husband is doing well now. And it was so terrific of those hotels to issue you a credit. Classy!
