HELP!!!Info on St. Lucia

We want to go to St. Lucia over the holidays. Can anyone recommend a good, medium-priced hotel, villa, inn, etc. on or near the beach? I need to move fast, since this is fairly last minute. I appreciate any suggestions.

Stayed at the Jalousie Hilton once & loved every minute there! Be forewarned , it's not medium priced, but worth every penny. The road in St. Lucia are awful, but if you are at The Jalousie, you won't want to leave too often.
Enjoy! St. Lucia is absolutely beautiful!
j.

Hi!

My husband and I have stayed at an all inclusive in St Lucia called Rendezvous. Small, 80 - 90 rooms, excellent service and food and DRINKS! In fact we are going back there again in Feb 2001 we love it so much! Cost 408 per night includes all meals, all drinks and bottled wine with lunch and dinner. Excellent staff...intimate..good entertainment. Might be hard to book. They have a website. Search under Rendezvous on Yahoo. Luck!

We were there last June and stayed at the newly-opened Hyatt Regency. Beautiful hotel located quite a ways from the downtown. Great staff; great rooms; good food (not all-inclusive). Unless you rent a car, getting around in St. Lucia is expensive. It's about a $20 cab ride one way from the Hyatt Regency to downtown. I highly recommend taking the all day tour boat tour to the Pitons mountains.
Enjoy!
Plan on going to St. Lucia in Jan '01. The following places seem decent and cost far less than the others mentioned: Villas St. Lucia, Stonefields Estate Villas, Mago Estates, Hummingbird Beach Resort, and the Still. All have websites. Good Luck.
