How is Barbados?

We're exploring our options for vacation next February and one of our places of consideration is Barbabos. Is it a good island for families? Where would you recommend to stay? (Sandy Lane is waaay out of our price range) Has anyone ever heard about or stayed at the Coral Reef Club? How is the Fairmont? Is there stuff to do on the island? I would appreciate any feedback.

Barbados is an island of lovely people, a wide range of hotels, beaches, restaurants, sightseeing. And IMO, Coral Reef club is the class act on the island. Family-owned for 50+ years (but updated); low rise bldgs and cottages on beautiful grounds at the edge of an underwater park. The island has a cave for exploring, submarine and helicopter rides, gorgeous gardens, an animal preserve, restored plantation houses, water sports, historical sites. It has some of everything a Caribbean island can offer, except for a volcano. See www.barbados.org and www.coralreefbarbados.com

We were just there a couple of weeks ago. This was our second time. I have told people that while they look at Caribbean maps to choose their next vacation, that Barbados is a great destination. It really calls out our name anyway. It has everything for families or couples. The action, the grandness, the enchanting culture and blissful tranquility. We personally love the Hilton. The staff has always made our time there as perfect as possible.
Enjoy the incredible journey!

I just started to put together a site on Barbados

Barbados-travel-secrets.com

You can find some information on there, and we'll be adding about a page per day. Thanks
