MoBay to Negril transfer

Can anyone recommend a tour company or guide to hire to transport us from the Montego Bay airport to our hotel in Negril and then also to do day trips with?

What hotel are you staying at in Negril? The reason I ask is that there is a wonderful taxi stand/company located directly across from COCO LA PALM and IDLE AWHILE. We have used several of those drivers over the years- especially Whitney and Stanley- but any of them will provide you with great service and can be reserved ( I think) for day trips. If you are staying at either of those hotels, you should be able to arrange this directly through them.

The taxi company I mentioned is not far from Charela. Tell them you want one of the drivers from the company across the street from IDLE AWHILE. Try to ask for "Whitney" if he's still there ( I was last in Negril two Christmas's ago). He is one of the best drivers, and really a nice guy!

We used Clive's last month. Good driver to and from the airport. Clive himself took us on a day trip to YS Falls, Black River safari and Pelican Bar. It was a wonderful day.

Thanks everyone. Any other advise on what day trips are good? We are interested in seeing the less touristy south coast and just any natural beauty. We have teenage kids who like active things.

Abbyo have you finalized your plans for the family vacation? If not you can contact Earle at 1876-864-3270, he is greate for pickup and tours. There are many tour locations he will take you to including YS falls, Bob Marley Museum, Ritz Cafe, Dolphin Cove, Mistic Mountain, Club Cali and others. I should add, he is reasonable.

I used Clives this past July for my round-trip airport transfer. $20 pp each way. worked like a charm.

I stayed at Mirage resort (sister property to Charela Inn)... both very nice places btw!

Sorry I have no particular recommedations, as I only stayed in Negril. But there's lots of day trips to be arranged. Just depends how far you want to go, what kind of things you want to do. There's also things right in Negril, like the funky local style glassbottom boats and other activities on the water right along the beach/cliffs.

Do you have a guidebook & maps yet? Fodor's InFocus Jamaica is a decent one.
