Need help
I am planning a trip with my family to the virgin islands this Aug; but don't much about it. The funny thing is we were planning to go to Cancon Mexico but by brainless sister lost all here paper work and can't get a passport in time. So if someone could answer the following questions, I would really appreicate:
1. What's there to do?
2. Is it more party scene or laid back?
3. What are the best islands out of the three
4. What are good places to stay at that are moderately priced?
5. Is it really expensive (u.s virgin island vs. Hawill)?
6. I am not a fan of Hawii, is the U.S Virgin island the same thing?
7.What are some alternatives to the Islands?
Thanks again, I appreciate any help. I know it's a lot of questions but if someone had in information it would be great.

St John is the least developed of the 3..with 2/3rds of the island being a National Park.My family and I are going there soon.It is said to be the most laid back island.
St Thomas is said to have the shopping, nightlife and a little more activities than St John.
St Croix is the largest island and is farther away from both STT and STJ.
I would stay on either STT or STJ and you can go between the two. They are only a 30-45 minute ferry ride apart.
I have been told that you can find restaurants in all price ranges.
On St John..I would rent a villa unless you prefer resorts. For a villa rental try www.vivacations.com or www.caribbeanvilla.com.
For a resort the Westin looks nice.
Good luck!!Maybe someone else will answer more of your questions.

There's lots to do. Deep sea fishing, golfing, sailing, all the beach stuff, lots of restaurants and bars, etc. STT has more nightlife than the other two islands. STJ is very laid back. The best depends on what YOU consider "best". Do you like escorted tours? Do you like sailing? Do you like laid-back? Do you like adventure? Is the beach the biggest deal to you or is shopping? If by moderate you mean more inexpensive, on STT, I would check out Villa Santana. On St Croix, the Waves at Cane Bay and on STJ, The Inn at Tamarind Court. The USVI is cheaper than Hawaii. I like Hawaii better myself, but no, they're not alike. The beaches in the USVI are better, there's more shopping (STT)and a better climate. As far as alternatives, maybe PR?
