New Horizons or Limnos
Hi all, thanks for all the information I've already found about New Horizons II and Limnos. We're staying at the Westin and want to do a day trip to the BVIs, and the itineraries of these boats sound awesome. We're having trouble deciding between the two, however, so I thought I'd solicit opinions.
Both have pros and cons -- Limnos picking up from Westin and being larger, New Horizons going to twice as many islands -- so I guess my question boils down to what people think of the islands themselves? For example, is the one stop at the Caves on Norman Island (Limnos) better than doing three stops at Marina Cay, Guana Island and Jost Van Dyke (New Horizons)?
I know this is all very subjective, and I imagine one island is as gorgeous as the next, but any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I think the stop at Marina Cay is just for lunch so you won't actually be doing much there. Guana Island has some good snorkeling and Jost Van Dyke is purely for the enjoyment of hanging out at a string of very Caribbean-style beach bars on a strip of gorgeous white sand beach. Norman Island is a lot of fun if you enjoy snorkeling around and into some small sea caves which served as inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. It's really up to personal preference. Limnios offers a cold lunch onboard and you'll be traveling with a much larger crowd (up to 30-40?) than New Horizons.

Tuxedocat is right, just a stop in Marina Cay for lunch and they call the order in before you arrive. A table was already set up for us and it was a nice way to get to know the other passengers. We only had 10 people on the boat although the capacity is for 18. Another factor to consider is how important the snorkeling is to you. The trip on NH II was supposed to stop on Guana but it was too rough there, so we had a short snorkel stop at Great Camenoe Island. We loved riding on the powerboat and the service was really personalized with such a small group. They were calling us by first name in no time. Very top notch Captain and First Mate on our trip. Interestingly, the First Mate was a former ER nurse, (I am as well currently) who chucked it all to live on STT. We really hit it off, hugs and all at the end of the day We really liked the smallness of the group.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. Brenda, you say "Another factor to consider is how important the snorkeling is to you." Did you mean that you get to do more or less snorkeling on the NH? Just wanted to clarify.... So far, I've heard/read nothing but good things about that boat....

Oops.... dang, the one thing I dislike about this board is that you can't edit your posts.... Sorry, I scanned your username too quickly, and thought I read "Brenda." Should have typed "brenandg."

Raymond,
You did just fine with the name. I am Brenda. To clarify, my Fodors name is brenandg, stands for Brenda and Gary (Bren-and-g) I am not familiar with Limnos, I am thinking that there is less snorkeling on NH II. Not an issue for us. Make sure you get to Jost one way or another. It is the perfect Caribbean Beach!!!!!!!!
