One and Only or Cap Juluca?
My husband and I are planning a 5 night getaway and are looking for a great hotel (not a high rise) with great restaurants, or close to some, in a relatively easy place to get to from NC. We love Little Dix, Caneel Bay and Cambridge Beaches and want something similar. Would like your thoughts on the One and Only and Cap Juluca. We've heard good things about Harbour Island but think it might be too hard/time consuming to travel to.
Thanks for any and all feedback.

Viceroy or CJ Anguilla of those you mention for me...
although
www.runawayhill.com is my fav for a small intimate B&B
Harbor Island not hard to get to
fly into North Eleuthera take a beautiful 5 minute ferry.
prettiest PINK sand 3 mile beach I have ever seen.
water is a little rougher and cooler than more southern
Carib Beaches though but great diving nearby and
delicious conch and lobster...
Happy Deciding,

Nice when I stayed there but Paradise Island quite toursity
The basic rooms at the ocean club are not that great villas
good beutifully landscaped nice pools some "greek" ruins.
Would be your best closest connection but #3 for me
unless you are into expensive rooms food crowds and gambling.
Have fun,

I have been to Caneel,LDB, and know Bermuda well, although
I never stayed at Cambridge Beaches. I love Cap Juluca, have stayed there many times. Maunday's Bay is a wonderful beach,
and every room at CJ is waterfront, just steps away from
the sand. Its located on the west end of Anguilla, just a short ride away to mostly waterfront dining. CJ's restaurants are all on the water and the food is very good.
Anguilla is all about dining and relaxation. Our first trip was for 5 nights--it works well.

The grounds at the One and Only are beautiful and there is more to do in Paradise/Nassau than on Anguilla, but Cap is my favorite place on my favorite island. The staff at the Ocean Club is also very rude

For me, the island is more important than the hotel because you can find 5* experiences on most islands. I'm an Anguilla girl, definitely. Made my first visit in June 2009, planning my fifth visit in June 2011. For great food, a relaxing time, and a location that is easy to get around on your own, I'm not sure you can beat Anguilla among Caribbean destinations. We prefer to stay in locations with their own kitchens, so I cannot speak to Cap Juluca, but if we preferred the more traditional hotel/resort, we'd definitely stay there. Since you're also looking at the One and Only, you might also want to check out the Viceroy on Anguilla.
